REWIND 2015 – My favourite photographs

2015 has been a great year for me as a wildlife photographer. Lots of travel. Exciting¬†experiences. New friends. In the process, I made some photographs that I am happy with. Most of my travel was to 3 places – Andaman & Nicobar, Ladakh and Agumbe. No wonder a majority¬†of the images below are from these 3 places.   Waiting 4 years for that shot! Splendour of Ladakh

The high-altitude desert of Ladakh does hold surprises. The Himalayas here wear a barren look, covered with many tiny rocks – the remnants of glaciers that melted earlier in the season. Near the brackish water lake, Tso Kar, one does come across a change in colour in the landscape – green grass that attracts the sparse wildlife of the region. Tibetan Wild Asses or Kiang (Equus kiang), the largest of the Wild Asses, roam this beautiful landscape. These handsome-looking animals are seen in small groups and, sometimes, alone.
