Tucked away into my flight seat, I began writing this piece as we flew out of South America towards Africa. It was the first day of the new year. And the end of one of my longest tours – all of 35 days (not to mention another 4 days of flying) spent in Argentina, Chile and Antarctica. A big smile had lit up my face a few minutes ago as I glanced through the photographs that I made through the trip. It had been an amazing photography experience, in addition to being an enriching travel experience, on virtually the opposite side of the planet from India.
I was eventually out of processed images from this trip. I casually started browsing photographs I’d made from previous trips. Over the next hour or so, I virtually re-lived an entire year of photography! Some images made me dwell over them longer than the others. Images that I really connected with. In some, it was the thought behind the photograph. In others, the efforts that I’d put in to make the image were rewarded well. Sometimes, it was an unforgettable moment – one where everything came together beautifully to make the photograph. And I can’t get over those serendipitous moments when the animal just appeared in front of us!
It’s taken a while putting together this blog post, but here it is! Images that made 2018 special for me. They are in no particular order. Hope you enjoy this selection 🙂
